I have the same standard SNMP v2c configuration in all switches, and i can reproduce the problem on 2960-S, 2960-X, 2960-C, 3560-X, 3750-X switches running 15.2(2)E3, 15.2(3)E3 or 15.2(4)E just by issuing a "snmpset -v1 -c $community $ip ifAlias.
